Description: Squeeze the small clip on the back and it will popup. Push it back down and it will stay closed. When at the end facing towards the head, the 6-pin connector is on the right hand side.
On the pop up there is a black plastic guide that can be raised to obscure the markings on the popup from the user.
Use: This pop up must be up in order to connect the 6 pin cable to the TIK. The compressions and vents scales on the popup are also used when calibrating for chest compressions and for ventilations.
The 6-Pin Connector
When connecting the 6Pin DIN plug from the TIK be sure to line up the dimple in the TIK plug with the matching slot in the female plug base in the pop up.
Chest Resistance on the Manikin
The chest resistance is able to be changed and is designed to cater for practice & tests on child to adult. The scale range is shown in Newtons of force per millimeter with the 6Nmm requiring a force of 68lb (30.6Kg) and the 11Nmm a force of 124lb (56.2Kg) to depress the chest 50mm (2 inches).
Regardless of the resistance on the chest, the software will correctly measure the depth of the chest compressions.
Care For Your Manikin
SmartMan is an accurate scientific instrument. Take care not to walk on the plugs or bend them. Wash the skin with soap and water. A white hand degreaser may be used to remove black marks from the skin.
